I received notification from Zii.com today that my Zii EGG is on it's way. I've also been given access to the SDK and development tools as well so I'm downloading those as we speak. I'll be installing them on a copy of Portable Ubuntu Remix Uno that I have installed on my pocket HDD. I've already installed Eclipse and all the plug-ins, upgrades, and created the folders I need. Installation of the SDK shouldn't take long at all. I'll post in the Zii forums and on here once I have it completed and up and running.
Unfortunately, I will be doing a lot of work on the house this weekend and into next week. The front deck and the covered section should be completed this week so this weekend I will begin work on reshingling the roof. I expect this to take up most of my time, but hopefully I'll be able to get a few good hours in with the EGG sometime this weekend. I want to be able to put together the traditionally mandatory "Hello World" application at least.
I have a lot of ideas for some applications that I think would be pretty cool and, if nothing else, fun to make. Once i get them a little more flushed out I'll post some screenshots and maybe some download links to a few of them.
Expect a serious review of the Hardware and the SDK next week once I've had some time to get my hands dirty.
